For many people, the only thing more frustrating than having acne is forever being reminded of it by the scars that remain even after the acne itself is gone. Seeing doctors and receiving treatment can be expensive and tedious, and doesn't come with absolute certainty that it's going to work. Before pursuing any of those options, here are five kitchen remedies for acne scars that are worth a try.
Lemon Juice

The first one is by using lemon juice, which is great at lightening skin and reducing redness. All you have to do is squeeze out the juice from a lemon and apply it to your acne scars either with your fingers or a cotton ball. Leave it there for about 10 minutes before you wash it off. By doing these once a day for a few weeks, you should start to see results. Of course, lemon juice will make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so stay out of direct sunlight and apply sunscreen when going outside.
Honey
Honey is another agent that's useful for removing acne scars, and there are a variety of ways to use it. First, you can apply honey to your scars and leave it there overnight. You can also mix two tablespoons of honey with ¼ cup of oatmeal and apply the mixture to your scars for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off. Finally, you can mix in ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder with a tablespoon of honey and apply it to your scars, leaving it there for either an hour or overnight.
Baking Soda
There is also baking soda, which should be readily available in every kitchen. Simply mix baking soda with water to create a paste that gets applied to your face, specifically where you have acne scars. After a few minutes, wash the paste away with warm water and apply a moisturizer. If you repeat this two or three times per week, you should start to see results before too long.
Essential Oils
Another proven method to remove acne scars is to utilize essential oils on the affected part. Essential oils, especially chamomile and lavender oils, contain skin-healing properties which will help to get rid of your acne scars. Simply apply some drops on the scars and rub down. You'll start seeing improvements after a few weeks, when you do this regularly.
Vitamin E
You can also apply Vitamin E on acne scars. Using it topically will help your scars to fade faster. The way to do this is to use a pin to pierce the Vitamin E capsule and squash the contents on your scars. Vitamin E is vital in keeping the skin healthy.
